Jerry & Beverly & Family

Hello, Lane Family, We hope that everyone is doing well. I cannot believe it has taken me so long to blog on our Lane Blog that Sherry started. I hope to add some pics soon.

Jamey still works for CenturyLink and Melissa is a stay-at-home mom with Claire who 2 ½. She looks so much like Jamey when he was her age. Josh, their 9 year old played baseball for the Yankees again this school year. I remember Guy’s love for baseball… especially the Atlanta Braves! Jordan will be 17 on Oct. 3. She is a fantastic basketball player. She will be a Jr. this coming year, but started taking College courses this past year.

Janay went back to college and earned her 4 year education degree in 2 ½ years. She taught 1st grade last year and will teach Pre-K this coming year. She’s very proud to be a teacher… teaching right where her grandmother (Margaret) taught for soooo many years and where I still teach (30 years at the end of Oct.).
Todd has started a lawn care business. Michael, 17, is looking forward to correctional officer training during his senior year. Colby, 15, is another basketball fanatic. Brooke, 8 on Oct. 23, loves to read and seems to enjoy school.

Jesse still works for UPS and Stephanie has recently started to work with a Panama City dentist as a hygienist. She drops Will & Wes off at her dad’s and step mom’s house about halfway (Sunny Hills area). Right now, she works 4 days a week, but will probably be 3 days a week in the future. Will & Wes will be 9 months old on Aug. 5. It is so much fun to just sit & watch them as they play and interact.

Jeanna is a radiographer at the Marianna Hosp. Rocky works for the Department of Corrections in Malone. Madison, 5 on Aug. 21, starts K this year. She’s sooo ready! Kylie, 2, loves her big sister and will miss her when she is no longer at daycare with her.

As mentioned earlier, I will have worked 30 years as of 10/31/10. My plans are to finish the year out and retire next June. Those plans aren’t written in stone these days. I keep going back and forth on the retirement issue. Jerry doesn’t row crop anymore, but he has a good size herd of cows. They keep him pretty busy.

Love to all,
Beverly

Hello Everyone,

Thanks to Sherry for setting up this Blog and the update on her family. Here's just a short note to give you all the big news in our family... Sara and Steve became engaged a couple of months ago and they are planning a March '10 wedding. Margaret is busy working as the "Wedding Planner" and I'm busy writing the checks. Both live in Orlando and work in the healthcare industry. Steve is from the Chicago area and graduated from the U of Chicago before moving to FL. I look forward to catching up on your families news as well.
Rick

Fort Walton Beach Visit

From Sherry Kelley,
First I want to send my condolences to the James Lane Family. My thoughts and prays are with you all.

Welcome to the Lane Family Round Robin! Michelle set up a blog for their family. We enjoy getting the up dates and great pictures. I thought it would be great if we had a Lane blog. I hope everyone will enjoy and use it.

Now an update on the Hessenius family.
I drove down to Florida a few weeks ago. It was good to see mom, dad, and Phil. The Alzheimer is catching up to her fast. She is no longer able to feed herself. She has gotten worse since the last time I saw her in Feb. The good news is that she is still very active and on the move all the time. We tried to get a picture but could now get her to slow down long enough. She is no longer aloud to come home for safety reasons. She is so agitated that she might try to get out of the car. I really do miss her. Dad seems to be doing pretty good. He had ear surgery while I was there and I was able to help out. Phil is a captain on a new boat and work has picked up. While there his boat caught one 57lb. and two 45lb King Mackerels plus a lot of Red Snappers.
Michelle and my grand-daughter Emma(now 19 months) flew down for a visit. They had a good time visiting mom, dad, going to the beach, and hanging out at the docks with her Uncle Phil. Michelle loves being a stay at home mom. Emma keeps her busy and on the goal to gym class, story time at the library, swim classes and visiting friends. About 4 months ago, Basil took a new job raising money for cancer research. Their big money maker is a 24 hour bike ride around Charlotte in two weeks. His company also works with Lance Armstrong non-profit company raising money. Jay and I will be flying to Charlotte to volunteering (an excuse to see Emma again).
Justin quit his flight instructor job in Ft. Myers and moved to Zurich, Switzerland. While he is in Zurich he will be working for Lufthansa Systems. The company is owned by Lufthansa Airlines and builds aeronautical charts for the airlines. He has been there for 3 1/2 months now. He says he is enjoying the job and it seems that he gets new challenges everyday. Recently he was put on the east coast U.S. team. They take care of all U.S. airports east of the Mississippi and also Africa and Australia. Justin will be coming home for a visit in September (we can't wait).
Jerome is now working in Augusta, Georgia at the army base. He is assigned to work with some of the hospital staff that have projects going on to save the hospital money and improve patient care.
I drove Michelle and Emma back to Charlotte just in time for the 4th of July parties where Jay met us. I am still working as a special ed. teacher at the high school. They have assigned me to co-teach geometry this year. (I never even took the class in high school, I have a lot of studying to do before Sept.) Wish me luck or my poor students. I do have a good teacher!!
I have added a number of pictures of Emma. Enjoy!! and hope to hear for all.
